Autoliv Partnership with GWM for safety Technology

Shanghai, China- Autoliv China., a division of Autoliv Inc. an automotive safety systems, and Great Wall Motor co. Ltd., ("GWM"), a vehicle manufacturer based in China, intend to collaborate to address opportunities and challenges in the rapidly evolving global automotive landscape. Through this new collaboration, Autoliv further strengthens its position with Chinese OEMs.

Vehicles made and sold by GWM are branded with its own names, including Great Wall, Haval, WEY, TANK, and POER. It also manufactures specialized electric vehicles under the ORA brand. Since 2003, when Autoliv created and started supplying seat belts for Haval SUVs, the company has collaborated with GWM.

Through collaboration around innovation technology and an emphasis on quality, the strategic alliance strives to promote innovation. The partnership is anticipated to produce improvements that will revolutionize the driving experience, such as an overhead passenger airbag that inflates from the car's roof, freeing up interior space.

The zero-gravity seat, a comprehensive safety system solution for autonomous vehicles, is also part of the partnership. For maximum safety, the Autoliv zero-gravity seat has airbags and a built-in seatbelt. The safety system adapts to the needs of various drivers and passengers as the seat reclines by taking into account their weight, height, and gender.

Autoliv China and GWM are devoted to developing low-carbon solutions and have a common commitment to sustainability. As part of the collaboration, new sustainable items are being created, including steering wheels wrapped in bio-leather and airbag cushions made primarily of bio-PET.

Mr. Mikael Bratt, President, and CEO of Autoliv Inc, said that, This strategic partnership is a significant step toward Autoliv and GWM's shared objective of transforming how people perceive transportation. We are both dedicated to safety, placing a priority on quality, innovation, and sustainability. In order to improve both the safety and overall driving experience for users around the world, Autoliv China will collaborate closely with the GWM team and pool Autoliv's knowledge and strengths into our partnership.

Mr. Jack Wei, Founder and Chairman of GWM said that, GWM and Autoliv have worked together for more than 20 years, and I think today marks the start of a new chapter. We will work closely together to develop platformization, commonization, and novel technologies that will offer more diversified solutions for future mobility.
