ClearFlame Engine Technologies showcases its FuelAdaptive engine
The pilots record and verify the upfitted engines from ClearFlame's roadworthiness as well as their capacity to use ethanol to match typical diesel performance while reducing fuel costs and carbon emissions by more than 40%.
Omaha, United States- ClearFlame Engine Technologies., showcased their FuelAdaptive engine at a forum on sustainable trucking hosted by United States Senator Pete Ricketts, the Nebraska Trucking Association and the Clean Freight Coalition.
The forum focused on how technological innovation in the trucking industry may lower lifecycle carbon emissions while also enabling fleets to quickly, profitably, and sustainably embrace new technology.
In collaboration with one of the largest fleets in the US, Chicago-based ClearFlame successfully completed the first in a series of on-road pilots. A second pilot is currently underway, and a third is scheduled to begin in September. The pilots record and verify the upfitted engines from ClearFlame's roadworthiness as well as their capacity to use ethanol to match typical diesel performance while reducing fuel costs and carbon emissions by more than 40%.
ClearFlame CEO and co-founder BJ Johnson said, "First pilot results validated that our upfit delivers the critical outcomes we've been working diligently to achieve. The truck's uptime hit 98% and it delivered 100% of its loads, its fuel savings averaged 42% and carbon emissions fell by 45%. We welcome the opportunity to demonstrate that renewable, homegrown fuels like ethanol give fleets a profitable, sustainable and immediate solution to meet government and customer demands for lowering Scope 3 emissions."
