DAF XD with PX-7: Extended Wheelbases and Cab Variants

Eindhoven, Netherlands- DAF Truck N.V., is further expanding its focus on safety and driver comfort by perfectly tuning the DAF XD to the individual tasks and requirements of operators. The XD, equipped with a 6.7-litre PACCAR PX-7 engine, is now available with wheelbases of up to 6.9 meters and a full suite of cabs, including the Sleeper Cab and Sleeper High Cab. The PX-7-powered 'International Truck of the Year 2023' is currently offered as a 4x2 rigid, with 6x2 chassis variants to follow later.

The DAF XD is the best 19-ton-plus distribution truck because of its superior direct and indirect vision, active and passive safety features, and outstanding driver comfort. It can be fitted with the economical 6.7-liter PACCAR PX-7 driveline (for applications up to 19 tons) and the fuel-efficient PACCAR MX-11 engine (220 kW/300 hp to 330 kW/450 horsepower). The latter weighs 600 kg less and has outputs ranging from 167kW (230 horsepower) to 227kW (310 horsepower).

Spacious and comfortable cabs

DAF has expanded the XD PX-7 program to include the Sleeper Cab and Sleeper High Cab in addition to the roomy Day Cab that is already available. These taxis enable multi-day distribution trips and provide the driver with even greater living room and driving comfort. The incredibly cozy thick mattress from the DAF XF is featured on the 70 centimeter broad bunk.

Outstanding driver position

With the widest range of seat and steering wheel adjustments available, all XD cabs ensure the best driver posture in the class. The front end, cab suspension, and rear axle suspension of the chassis are optimally designed to enhance ride and handling.

Extra-long wheelbases

With the new extra-long wheelbases, driver comfort is further increased. These are particularly suitable for applications involving the distribution (conditioned or not) of large quantities of relatively light items to supermarkets and retail stores because they come in lengths of up to 6.9 meters.
