Mitsubishi Fuso Unveils upgraded Super Great Truck

Kanagawa, Japan- Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC)., a commercial vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled the latest model of its Super Great truck on October 25, 2023, with sales expected to commence within the same year in the Japanese market. This fully revamped Super Great, six years after its last significant overhaul in 2017, places a strong emphasis on enhancing economy, safety, and comfort.
The new Super Great boasts a powerful and efficient 6R30 high-performance 12.8L engine, designed to increase combustion pressure and turbo performance for better torque and fuel efficiency. The cab has been redesigned for improved aerodynamics, while low rolling resistance tires have been incorporated to meet Japan's FY2025 Fuel Efficiency Standards (JH25).
In terms of aesthetics and identity, the Super Great features the distinctive FUSO Black Belt motif, signifying strength and sophistication, aligning it with other FUSO product lines such as the Canter and Aero Queen coach bus. The design not only enhances aesthetics but also reduces CO₂ emissions in the manufacturing process through environmentally friendly surface treatments.
Safety is a top priority for the new Super Great, which comes equipped with advanced features like Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA®6) and Active Side Guard Assist® 2.0, offering comprehensive collision mitigation and hazard detection. This commitment to safety aligns with MFTBC's support of Daimler Truck's Vision Zero initiative to reduce road accidents involving their vehicles.
The Super Great's 6R30 engine combines power and efficiency, improving thermal efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. The super high roof configuration enhances the interior, offering more space and storage while contributing to improved aerodynamics and fuel economy. The interior design incorporates the FUSO Black Belt motif and comes with different color schemes.
Standard features across all models include Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA®6), Active Side Guard Assist 2.0, a Front Blind Spot Information System, and a rear-view camera system. The remodeled cab design includes LED headlights and rear combination lamps, as well as the FUSO Easy Access Key and an electric parking brake for added convenience and safety.
