PACCAR unveils its cutting-edge lineup of hydrogen fuel cell and battery electric vehicles, including Kenworth's T680 FCEV and Peterbilt's SuperTruck II, at CES 2024, showcasing a commitment to zero-emission heavy-duty operations and advanced transportation technologies.

United States- PACCAR Inc., is set to unveil its latest generation of commercial vehicles featuring cutting-edge, customer-centric technologies at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

John Rich, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in PACCAR, emphasized the company's commitment to pioneering essential technologies in the transportation industry. This includes industry-leading battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles aimed at helping customers achieve optimal efficiency and minimal emissions. Rich stated, "We are investing in multiple zero-emissions technologies to provide our customers with the right trucks and transportation solutions."

Highlighted products and technologies to be exhibited at CES 2024 include:

Kenworth’s T680 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV): Leveraging next-generation hydrogen fuel cell technology developed in collaboration with Toyota Motor North America, Inc., the Kenworth T680 FCEV offers uncompromised zero-emissions heavy-duty operations with a range of up to 450 miles, a max gross combination weight rating of 82,000 lbs., and refueling times comparable to traditional diesel trucks. PACCAR has received over 150 paid deposits for Kenworth and Peterbilt FCEVs, with customer deliveries starting in 2025.

Peterbilt’s SuperTruck II: Developed under a U.S. Department of Energy program to enhance goods transportation efficiency, the SuperTruck II serves as a testbed for future product technologies. It features an advanced clean diesel engine with waste heat recovery, achieving a 55% Brake Thermal Efficiency improvement, a 48-volt mild hybrid powertrain, electrified engine accessories, and enhanced aerodynamics.

DAF’s XD Battery Electric Vehicle: Tailored for urban and suburban transport, the DAF XD Battery Electric truck delivers up to 310 miles on a single charge. With a 325 kW fast charging capability, the truck can charge from 0-80% in just over 45 minutes or 0-100% in under two hours. The DAF XD Battery Electric truck can achieve a daily range of over 600 miles with the largest available battery pack and strategic charging.

PACCAR Parts’ Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions: PACCAR Parts will present DC fast chargers designed for Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF electric vehicles, strategically covering PACCAR’s full range of electric vehicles.
