Coburg, Germany- Brose Automotive Supplier is expanding its product portfolio to include an acoustic warning system for electrified vehicles. Starting in 2026, the family-owned company will equip several million electric and hybrid vehicles in Europe and North America with the new product

Electrified vehicles move almost silently on the road when moving off and at low speeds. The danger is that other road users only become aware of the approaching car much later. For this reason, there are worldwide legal requirements for the installation of a warning system. Brose has developed its own AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System), which generates artificial driving noises at speeds below 50 km/h.

The mechatronics specialist drew on its expertise in the fields of acoustics and electronics, for example from the development of sound boxes for door modules. The module's wide frequency range of 200 to 5,000 hertz enables high-quality driving noises and individual sound designs.
