Chennai- Ashok Leyland Ltd., a commercial vehicle manufacturer of the Hinduja Group, has announced a major order from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). The order includes the supply of 543 Units of  BSVI-compliant diesel chassis and fully built buses. Awarded through a formal tender process, the order is scheduled for execution between June and December 2025.

This significant contract further strengthens Ashok Leyland’s leadership position in the domestic commercial vehicle market, particularly in the southern region. As one of the most trusted suppliers to state transport undertakings (STUs), the company has consistently demonstrated its ability to meet public sector requirements with dependable, efficient mobility solutions.

The deal comes at a time when Ashok Leyland is intensifying its focus on expanding its domestic footprint while ensuring compliance with evolving emission regulations. With the rise in demand for BSVI-compliant public transport vehicles driven by environmental mandates and increased government investments in infrastructure this order is expected to contribute meaningfully to the company’s growth in the current financial year.

Spanning production across two quarters, the execution of this order will support revenue generation in both the first and second halves of FY26. It also offers production stability and reinforces Ashok Leyland’s standing in a competitive and price-sensitive commercial vehicle environment.
