Ludgate Hill, United Kingdom- Hitachi ZeroCarbon Limited., a provider of end-to-end solutions for decarbonising fleet vehicles, has announced a strategic partnership with COBUS Industries GmbH., an airport mobility solution.

Under this collaboration, Hitachi will equip 100 e.COBUS Extended Range (ER) buses worldwide with its ZeroCarbon BatteryManager solution by 2025. This advanced solution will monitor and analyze the health and performance of COBUS' EV batteries, helping to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO), extend battery life, and increase residual value.

The partnership will provide COBUS and its customers with detailed data on each EV battery, minimizing degradation risks, optimizing route planning, and enabling early intervention before faults occur. Proactive battery alerts will support preventative management, ensuring a smooth passenger experience from airport to terminal. The ZeroCarbon BatteryManager will offer real-time monitoring, comprehensive reports, and data-driven forecasting, aiding decision-making and operational efficiency.

Mr. Patricia Vasconcelos, CEO of COBUS Industries, emphasized the importance of sustainability in the airport network, noting that electrifying their bus fleet is just the first step. The ability to manage EV batteries effectively will help optimize routes and retain asset value, and with Hitachi’s globally scalable solution, COBUS can drive long-term business value.

Mr. Ram Ramachander, CEO of Hitachi ZeroCarbon, highlighted the challenges of fleet electrification, including the ability of EV batteries to meet operational demands in diverse environments. This partnership with COBUS will demonstrate how to manage EV battery assets across various climates and terrains, ultimately reducing operational risks and ensuring robust fleet management.

Mr. Bharat Kaushal, Corporate Officer at Hitachi Ltd. and Managing Director of Hitachi India, shared his vision for India’s journey to carbon neutrality by 2070. He emphasized Hitachi's role in shaping a sustainable future and strengthening its partnership with India. The collaboration with COBUS further advances Hitachi’s leadership in EV battery asset management and contributes to India’s green revolution, with a transformative impact on passenger comfort and airport mobility.
