Italy/Luxembourg- Iveco Group N.V., announce a new R&D partnership with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). This collaboration, through LIST’s Sustainable Composite Materials and Manufacturing Innovation Centre (SCMM-IC), focuses on sustainable and lightweight composite materials for transport applications. This initiative is co-funded by the Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy and the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).

SCMM-IC focuses on materials that enable net zero-emission mobility, working closely with OEMs in automotive, rail, aeronautics, and space sectors. Through our new agreement, Iveco Group and SCMM-IC will jointly develop material technologies for future generations of Iveco Group vehicles.

The Iveco Group and LIST collaboration will span four years, initially focusing on sustainable, lightweight composites for IVECO BUS. The partnership will eventually extend to all brands within the Iveco Group.

Composite materials offer key benefits to the transport sector, including weight reduction for better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. They also provide improved maintenance, repairability, and longer service life compared to metal components. This integration will enhance the performance and efficiency of Iveco Group brands, lowering total cost of ownership (TCO) and offering more sustainable, cost-effective solutions to customers.
