Mumbai- Tata Motor Ltd., has filed its patent for it Double decker design- probably for BrihanMumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) competing with Switch Mobility’s  EiV22.

The Vehicle is based on a 2 axle chassis and 9m in length (not confirmed yet), wide entry and exit doors at the front and rear and large windows.

BEST has notified it’s requirement for 900 Electric double decker buses out of which 200 of its were to be supplied by Switch Mobility- a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland, where the remaining buses order has been cancelled from a brand named Causis E-mobility due to failure of delivering the buses, thus blacklisted by BEST.

The Tata Ultra 9m electric bus is powered by a 124 kWh battery pack that offers a range of 150 km

BEST already has a wet-leased fleet of Tata EV buses in both 9-metre and 12-metre body styles.
