Baden-Württemberg, Germany- Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen AG (ZF)., is showcasing its latest technologies for bus manufacturers and fleets at the Busworld trade show in Istanbul from May 29 to 31. Their focus is on delivering more decarbonized, safer, and connected public transportation. Highlighted offerings include the next-generation electric axle for low-floor city buses, advanced ADAS solutions like OnHand EPH, Collision Mitigation System (CMS) for city buses, live demonstrations of digital fleet management solution Bus Connect, and featuring the advanced fleet orchestration platform SCALAR.
ZF introduces its advanced AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle for low-floor city buses at the Busworld trade show in Istanbul, marking a first for Turkey. This axle is part of ZF's modular e-mobility kit, featuring innovative components for improved performance and energy efficiency. With a continuous output of up to 360 kW and peak torque of 37,300 Nm, it offers enhanced climbing ability and up to 10% energy savings compared to previous models. Despite its power, the compact design maximizes passenger space, while maintaining compatibility with ZF's air suspension and braking systems. Series production is set to commence in 2025.
Its comprehensive safety solutions for the commercial vehicle industry. Offerings range from individual components to complete systems like the GSR II suite, featuring Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information, and Reversing Assistance. The Collision Mitigation System for City Buses actively detects obstacles and can perform emergency stops, ensuring passenger safety. Also featured is the OnHand Electro-Pneumatic Handbrake, enhancing vehicle safety and paving the way for autonomous driving technology.
Connectivity solutions including SCALAR and Bus Connect. SCALAR optimizes road transport planning and dispatching for public transport managers, offering real-time, AI-based decision-making and service optimization. SCALAR EVO Flow integrates with various vehicle peripherals to provide rich vehicle and driver data. Bus Connect, ZF's digital fleet management solution, helps operators save costs, improve safety, optimize maintenance, and enhance bus fleet operations through data insights.
