AVTOTOR starts production of Electric CV in Kaliningrad

Kaliningrad, Russia- AVTOTOR LLC., a Russian Automotive manufacturer has begun producing small and medium-tonnage commercial vehicles with an electric drivetrain in partnership with Foton, a truck manufacturers in China. These goods will be produced under the BROCK brand specifically for the Russian market.
On September 8, 2023, a formal ceremony was held to begin the industrial production of two models of commercial vehicles with electric motors at the AVTOTOR plant's production facility in the village of Pereslavskoye, Zelenograd Municipal District, Kaliningrad Region.
The production line was modernized and outfitted with specialized equipment during the stage of facility preparation, including equipment for incoming control of the power battery, power electronics unit, electric motor, equipment for static and dynamic testing of the electric vehicle, calibration of electronic devices, safety testing (insulation resistance, characteristics voltage, potential equality, power testing, etc.), monitoring vehicle charging, and More than 130 million rubles were invested in this production line by AVTOTOR overall.
The factory's production line began making two models:
The BROCK 75 car (gross weight: 7.5 tons; lithium iron phosphate battery type; maximum engine power: 115 kW; range on a single charge: 300 km; fast charging time: 2 hours);
The BROCK 160 car (gross weight: 16 tons; lithium iron phosphate battery; maximum engine power: 160 kW; range on a single charge: 300 km; fast charging time: 2 hours).
A large variety of universal and specialized superstructures, such as flatbed platforms, vans for different purposes, refrigerators, hydraulic lifts, garbage trucks, tow trucks, etc., are ready to be installed on commercial vehicles. According to the previously approved action plan for the phased transfer of transportation in the Kaliningrad region, these products comply with the goals and objectives of the Electric Transport Development Program in terms of ensuring the environmental friendliness of freight transport in the area, converting the fleet of municipal vehicles to electric traction to ensure a reduction in maintenance and fuel costs, and being fitted with internal communications systems.
Commercial electric vehicles made at AVTOTOR facilities will be outfitted with fuel cell batteries made at the gigafactory being built by the State Corporation Rosatom's industry integrator, the RENERA company, in the Kaliningrad region (Neman), as well as electric motors and other components whose manufacturing will be mastered at AVT, according to the long-term project development plan, as part of the localization program.
