Delhi- Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot announced the launch of 500 additional electric buses in the capital on January 23, bringing the total to 1,800 electric buses. Emphasizing the role of public transport in reducing pollution, Gahlot urged citizens to prioritize it for a cleaner and greener city. During a bus ride promoting public transport, he interacted with passengers and highlighted the convenience of booking tickets through the 'One Delhi' mobile app. The government, in collaboration with Tummoc, introduced a single-journey ticket system valid for buses, metro, and autorickshaws. As of December 2023, Delhi's bus fleet comprised 7,232 buses, with a daily ridership of 41 lakh.
