Northern Ireland- ETRUX Limited., a leading advanced manufacturer and commercial vehicle specialist, has made a substantial investment with Magtec, placing a multi-million pound order for a fleet of MEV75s, the newly approved 7.5-tonne electric trucks for use in the UK.

Specifically designed for daily urban operations such as last-mile logistics, waste collection, and refrigerated deliveries, the MEV75 proves to be an ideal solution for low emission zones. The standard 80kWh version boasts a range of up to 100km, a four-hour charge time, and an impressive life cycle of up to 10 years.

This agreement with Magtec marks the largest single order for the MEV75, positioning ETRUX as a key player in promoting sustainable fleet operations. The electric truck has received full UK approval, making it eligible for a government plug-in grant that provides fleet managers with a discounted purchase price and reduced monthly finance options.

ETRUX, known for its vehicle conversion expertise and rental fleet operations, is committed to helping public and private sector organizations reduce carbon emissions in their fleets. The MEV75 will be made available to customers through ETRUX's extensive sales network.

Built on an Isuzu glider chassis, the MEV75 features a full electric drive system manufactured by Magtec in the UK. ETRUX has further expanded its offering by developing various options, including Luton, refrigerated, curtainsider, and drop side configurations for the vehicle.

Gerard Galvin, managing director of ETRUX, said that, "We are hugely excited to be offering the MEV75 to fleet operators, which will help them to meet net zero targets. This groundbreaking agreement with Magtec signifies our commitment to the advancement of the market for electric commercial vehicles."

Magtec achieved GB Small Series Approval for the MEV75 earlier this year, a significant milestone reflecting its dedication to providing zero-emissions transport solutions. Andrew Gilligan, managing director of Magtec, commented, "We are thrilled to be working with ETRUX and helping to meet the increasing demand for zero-emissions transport. We are very proud of the MEV75, which is the ideal solution for clean urban logistics operations."
