Vénissieux, France- Iveco bus, a brand division of Iveco S.p.A., and Charge Point Inc., have signed an agreement allowing Iveco Bus to offer ChargePoint's fleet software portfolio to its European customer base.

The combined expertise of the two companies will support transport operators in their transition to electromobility providing a best-in-class offering to operate their fleet and charging infrastructure.

By providing operators with data on the condition of their vehicles, batteries, and charging stations, this system will help them manage their fleet more effectively.  This will enable proactive charge management monitoring, range forecasting, simplified delivery route planning, and schedule planning, all of which will simplify the management of vehicle operations.

Additionally accessible are a depot management tool integrated with the bus operation schedule and a smart charge management capability. These services will make it possible to control the energy available for charging as efficiently as possible, which will lower the operator's costs.

The IVECO BUS range of IVECO ON linked services is expanded by this new service. Individual modules can be purchased from IVECO BUS directly and activated through the IVECO ON portal. With this new service, IVECO BUS is able to offer its clients a proprietary, agnostic solution with new and expanded functionality, further solidifying its position as a leader in whole electric mobility solutions.

Marco Franza, Head of Energy Management Solutions, Iveco Group, said that, For our clients, the alliance between IVECO BUS and ChargePoint is excellent news. In addition to smart charging and depot management, we can now provide fleet management using data from the IVECO BUS vehicles and the charging stations. This conforms to the turn-key solution approach of IVECO BUS and allows bus depots to be controlled through a single tool.

André ten Bloemendal, Senior Vice President Europe, at ChargePoint, said that, Fleet managers are embracing electrification to achieve a cheaper total cost of ownership, which is driving the transition to zero emission fleets across Europe. Together, we supply comprehensive solutions for fleets as they transition to electric vehicles. "Rolling out our cloud-based fleet management solution with bus OEM leader IVECO BUS demonstrates our shared commitment to fleet electrification in Europe."
