Vénissieux, France- Iveco Bus., the urban, intercity, and tourist bus brand under Iveco Group N.V. (EXM: IVG), has inked a deal to supply Azienda Trasporti Milanesi S.p.A. (ATM), Milan's public transport company, with 153 new electric buses. Valued at over 120 million euros, the contract is a pivotal step in Milan's shift towards sustainable mobility.

Part of ATM's strategic initiative for greener and more accessible transport, the contract underscores ATM's commitment to converting its entire urban fleet to 1,200 electric buses. This comprehensive plan includes revamping depots and constructing integrated facilities within the city's design. The introduction of IVECO BUS electric vehicles is a key milestone in ATM's Full Electric Plan, which targets 50% of electric buses in service by 2026.

The tender encompasses 153 new 12-meter electric buses, complete with a ten-year full-service maintenance package. Initial deliveries are anticipated by Q1 2025, with the remaining buses scheduled for completion by June 2026. This substantial investment reflects the pressing environmental and energy challenges facing public transport in Milan, with IVECO BUS positioned as a key supplier. Presently, IVECO BUS vehicles constitute 45% of the entire ATM fleet, amounting to 550 buses out of 1,200.

Domenico Nucera, President of the Bus Business Unit at Iveco Group, expressed pride in contributing to Milan's journey toward sustainable mobility. Leveraging IVECO BUS's competitive total cost of ownership and proximity to ATMs, the company aims to deliver a tailored solution aligned with the specific needs of the dynamic city.
