Solaris secures order for Electric Buses from Nobina

Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland- Solaris Bus and Coach Sp. z o.o., has received an order from public transport operator, Nobina Sverige AB., for 55 Urbino 15 LE electric buses. These vehicles will be registered as Class II vehicles and deployed on suburban routes in the Stockholm region. Deliveries are scheduled for 2024.

Nobina, a passenger transport company operating throughout Sweden, is keeping up its investments in environmentally friendly transportation. The company's Stockholm branch has ordered 55 tri-axle Urbino 15 LE electric buses from Solaris. The vehicles, which will transport people in the capital city of Sweden's suburbs, will be classified as class II vehicles by type approval. The expected delivery year is 2024.

Mr. Javier Iriarte, CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach, said that, With our cooperation with Nobina, we are happy to strengthen Solaris' position in the Swedish intercity market. We find this deal particularly noteworthy because it incorporates zero-emission suburban transit solutions, which is essential to the global mobility revolution. We take pride in having been entrusted with responsibility and trust. We are happy that the Urbino 15 LE electric will minimize its negative impact on the environment while offering passengers comfort on suburban routes. It is a fantastic product.

Low-entry, tri-axle electric buses with urban and suburban application options are the Urbino 15 LE models. A 240 kW central motor at the center of the driveline will be fueled by energy from over 550 kWh of Solaris High Energy batteries. As a result, the buses will be able to function without difficulty throughout the day, and they will be hooked in to recharge at night.

For further safety, Mobileye Shield+ will be installed in the vehicles. This driving aid system uses audio signals and dashboard messaging to alert the driver when it detects things in the blind spot of the vehicle.

Additionally, the Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric will have extra lightning outside the bus above the door to make it easier for passengers to board and disembark at dusk. This is part of the Scandinavian package that adapts the bus to inclement weather. 52 seats can be accommodated within the cars, including 8 seats that are more accessible that is, don't require extra steps which is crucial for those who are disabled or who are traveling with strollers or pushchairs. There will be an extra foldable seat behind the driver that is designated just for blind people's guide dogs.
