Peterbilt Launches 579EV & 567EV Electric Trucks for Zero-Emission Hauling
Peterbilt launches the next-generation Model 579EV and the all-new vocational Model 567EV, expanding its heavy-duty electric vehicle lineup. These zero-emission trucks deliver enhanced performance, faster charging, and customizable features tailored for regional haul and vocational operations.

Denton, TX, – Peterbilt Motors Company, has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the next-generation Model 579EV and the debut of the Model 567EV, the industry’s first electric heavy-duty vocational conventional truck. These advanced battery-electric vehicles are engineered to meet the evolving needs of fleets and vocational users, offering enhanced performance, fast charging, and improved safety features.
Model 579EV
Designed on the trusted diesel-powered Model 579 platform, the updated 579EV is built for regional haul and drayage applications. Key highlights include:
- Three battery options with a maximum range of 200 miles
- 350kW DC fast charging capability (80% in ~90 minutes)
- Enhanced safety features including a new electronic parking brake and Bendix® Fusion™
- Advanced Stop & Auto-Go functionality
- EV-exclusive styling elements inside and out
The interior features a Platinum Ionic Gray finish with laser-etched trim and gray stitching, while the redesigned exterior includes a unique grille and hood with blue accents.
All-New Model 567EV
Tailored for vocational applications such as dump and utility trucks, the Model 567EV combines durability with smart electric technology. Features include:
- Four battery capacity options with a maximum range of 250 miles
- ePTO options rated at 25kW or 150kW for equipment operation
- Customizable PTO controls, lighting connections, and frame layouts
- Rugged EV-specific exterior styling with functional enhancements
Shared Innovations
Both trucks are powered by the PACCAR ePowertrain, which features:
- Dual midship-mounted electric motors with a 3-speed integrated transmission
- Up to 605 hp and 1,850 lb.-ft. of torque
- Proven LFP battery chemistry and regenerative braking
- Compatibility with various suspensions and wheelbases (190+ inches)
- Maximum gross combined weight of 82,000 lbs.
Drivers also benefit from a new 13-inch SmartDisplay™ infotainment interface offering HVAC control, vehicle health monitoring, navigation, and app integration (with Virtual Vehicle arriving in 2026).
