Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland- Solaris Bus and Coach sp. z.o.o., has received a tender procedure to supply five Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses along with public transport operator Gmina Miejska in Głogów-Poland. Mayor Rafael Rakaszewicz participated in a signing ceremony in Głogów. In the signed contract, the first battery-powered electric buses will arrive in this Lower Silesian town in the second half of 2024.   

Mr. Rafael Rakaszewicz, Mayor of Głogów, said that the acquisition of additional electric buses by the Gmina Miejska Głogów has a social and monetary aspect as well as brings numerous natural advantages. It is critical to us that the buses in Głogów are zero-discharge and aren't dirty in our current circumstances. Solaris is a forerunner of the European electric buses, so we are anticipating this participation hugely.

Mr. Waldemar Wlazło, for the Western and Southern Region in Poland at Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z.o.o. said that," We are a lot of anticipating the following part of our drawn out coordinated effort and might want to compliment you on this impressive investment in zero-emission buses, which will unveil transport in Głogów more sustainable.

The specification of the bus drives with a 220 KW engine, powered by Solaris High Energy batteries. The capacity of batteries is 280kwh and will be charged via one lowered from the charging mast onto the bus roof. With flexible charging solutions, the buses will be able to operate for a long day, providing a reliable and environment.

The manufacturer will deliver the essential charging infrastructure. One quick charging station will be based on Towarowa Road while module chargers will be situated at the transport warehouse on Transportowa Road. The charging stations will become key components of the town's framework, taking into consideration quick and effective bus charging.

The partnership with Głogów began back in 2006 and throughout the long term  more than 20 Solaris vehicles, including 4 hybrid buses, have joined the town's fleet.
