Solaris received order from Italian transporter Azienda Veneziana della Mobilita
Transport company has ordered a total of 90 hydrogen Solaris buses.
Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland-Solaris Bus and Coach sp. z.o.o., has secured several significant orders in the Italian market. One of them is a major contract to supply hydrogen buses to Venice. The transport company Azienda Veneziana della Mobilita has ordered a total of 90 hydrogen Solaris buses, with 75 of them being the 12-meter version and 15 being articulated buses. The contract also includes an option to increase the order quantity.
The Solaris company has received a number of sizeable orders in the Italian market. One of these is a significant deal for Venice's hydrogen bus supply. Azienda Veneziana della Mobilita, a transport firm, has placed an order for 90 hydrogen Solaris buses, 75 of which are the 12-meter version and 15 of which are articulated buses. The agreement also provides for the possibility of increasing the number of orders.
Another Italian city dedicated to developing emission-free transportation is Venice, which has purchased both battery- and hydrogen-powered buses. 75 Urbino hydrogen 12-meter buses and 15 articulated Urbino 18 hydrogen buses have just been ordered by AVM from Solaris. According to the contract, these vehicles will be delivered to Venice over time beginning in November 2025 and ending in the first few weeks of 2026.
It's worth noting that 30 battery-powered Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses and 4 hydrogen-powered Urbino 12 are already running in and around Venice.
The Solaris Urbino hydrogen buses are completely emission-free motor vehicles that run on hydrogen that has been turned into electricity. In addition to operating without emissions and quietly, one benefit of hydrogen buses is their extensive range on a single fill-up. These buses can travel at least 350 kilometres with just 35 kg of hydrogen for a 12-meter bus and 50 kilogram for an articulated vehicle.
A new feature in the hydrogen buses for AVM will be the hydrogen refueling valves located on both sides of the buses above the front wheel arch.
According to the contract, the order of 90 hydrogen buses can be extended with an option, which could mean an additional order of 13 twelve-meter buses and 5 articulated versions.
