The Italian carrier ATM Milano has placed an order for up to 105 articulated Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses. This indicates that Milan has lately placed yet another order. 2014 saw the start of Solaris and ATM's collaboration in Milan. The carrier has since placed orders with the manufacturer for about 500 vehicles. It's interesting to note that Milan has only received zero-emission Vehicles from Solaris since 2018.

Mr. Javier Iriarte, CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. said that, In an effort to promote zero-emission mobility, Solaris e-buses have established themselves as a constant feature of European towns and cities. Milan leads by example, making significant investments in environmentally friendly transportation. Being a part of this shift as a partner makes us very happy.

ATM Milano has placed an order for the electric Urbino 18 model. A total of 700 kWh of Solaris High Energy batteries will be installed in this articulated Solaris e-bus. Like the earlier e-buses that were shipped to Milan, the recently commissioned vehicles will be powered by both plug-in and pantograph technology. With chargers positioned along the way, the urban infrastructure has been designed to facilitate frequent recharging, giving drivers almost infinite range during the day.

In the Italian market, the Solaris brand is still holding a strong position, especially in the battery-powered electric and hydrogen bus industry. The bus manufacturer has agreements to supply 90 hydrogen buses to Venice and 98 Urbino e-buses to Cagliari just this year.
