Chennai / Mumbai - Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd of Chennai, a subsidiary of the Daimler AG, has showcased its all-new BS VI-compliant 12 new medium and heavy-duty trucks and buses, this new generation of trucks and buses premiere with ‘profit technology+’ benefits package in Mumbai. They had invested around USD71.43m in BSVI Transition, leveraging technologies from Parent company Daimler AG, developed new facilities and more than 1000 new parts.

The Vehicle models showcased are 1415R, 1017 STAFF BUS, 3528 CM, 5528TT, 2828CM, 1217C, 1215R, 1617R and 2823R. The new product portfolio is now open for pre-booking and is likely to be introduced based on the fuel availability in every region.

The CV range draws power from the OM926 engine and 4D34i that remain the same as the BS4 version, but are now equipped with the aftermarket treatment systems that help reduce CO2 emissions by a significant margin on the BS6 range. The manufacturer has also introduced a six-year standard warranty on the trucks that is extendable up to eight years. It will have a service interval that is 20 per cent longer than the current range at 60,000 km and is said to reduce maintenance cost by up to six per cent.

They also launched a new digital platform called the 'Proserv', for serving the customers. It also unveiled two new smartphone-based telematic solutions - Truck Connect and Bus Connect. DICV claims that these services allow operators to track and analyse their vehicles in real time thus, allowing improvement in fleet and fuel management, reduced running costs, increased utilisation of assets and improved driver performance. The Proserv application is enabled with 65+ features including advance booking, parts ordering, renewal of contracts, extended warranty, insurance, fleet maintenance, 24x7 RSA and integration with all types of online payment options.

Speaking at the BS VI product range reveal in Mumbai, Satyakam Arya, MD and CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Ltd said, “BharatBenz’s new CV range offers Indian customers the solution they need for the future, setting new benchmarks for the medium and heavy-duty trucks with improved fuel efficiency, safety and connectivity. Going forward, we will move away from tonnage and focus on customized solutions for different applications.”
