JBM delivers 100 city life buses to Delhi

Delhi – JBM Auto Ltd (JBM) of Gurugram (New Delhi) has delivered the first 100 JBM CityLife1 buses to Delhi Transport department. The JBM CITYLIFE low floor buses will be running under the cluster scheme of Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS).

These buses manufactured by JBM Auto Ltd. run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and are equipped with all modern features like Real Time Passenger Information System (PIS), Panic Buttons for emergency, Automatic Bus Vehicle Location System, CCTV cameras, public address system, stop request buttons, wheelchair ramp to name a few. Dedicated pink colour seats have been provisioned for women passengers in these buses.

1CITY LIFE is powered with Cummins ISB 5.9 G Helios develops an output of 230 hp @ 2800 RPM and torque of 678 Nm @ 1600 RPM which is fitted with Automatic Transmission with in-built retarder. The chassis of 12m length is fitted with Independent Front Suspensions 2 air bellows, 2 telescopic shock absorbers and inverted Portal Rear Axle with Air Suspension, 4 Air bellows, 4 Telescopic Shock Absorbers & stabilizer bar suspended by ECAS (Electronically controlled Air Suspension.

2The Cluster Scheme is where the DIMTS (Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) Ltd) identifies certain transport clusters or services which need improved connectivity and where potential private operators could provide this link by using existing vehicles, to create a connection between transport services. The selection process of the private operator is performed by a tender system executed by DIMTS as per its guidelines. The service provider gets paid against the service rendered which is based on an indexed cost system – this is based on a fixed component attributable to the cost of the bus, a variable component for operating cost such as fuel and maintenance costs and a wage component.
