New Delhi- Automotive Skills Development Council's (ASDC) has appointed F R Singhvi, a seasoned professional in the auto component sector as the next President. Vinkesh Gulati has also been chosen to serve as vice president. At ASDC's Annual General Meeting (AGM), the appointments were disclosed.
Vinod Aggarwal, President of SIAM and MD & CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles, who has been instrumental in guiding ASDC's expansion over the past two years, will be succeeded by Singhvi. The National Automotive Olympiad was established under his leadership, over 100,000 apprenticeships were made possible through NAPS, and job fairs for rural communities were held to expand ASDC's reach throughout India. The trade association broadened its scope to include CSR projects, electric mobility initiatives, and leveraging major industry events.
At the Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA), where he oversees Pillar 3 programs including ACT, Skilling and Mentoring, HR, YBLF, and representing ACMA in ASDC Governing Council, Singhi is a co-promoter and the Joint MD of Sansera Engineering.
Vinkesh Gulati stated, “ASDC has built a strong foundation over the years. We have achieved significant milestones, with robust industry and ecosystem engagement. Notable accomplishments include our collaboration with GIZ to launch the E-Bus Up School Capacity Building Program, expansion into areas such as EVs, sustainability, safety, and diagnostics, and the revision of our Qualification Packs/curriculum based on insights from over 300 industry experts. Additionally, ASDC has actively participated in G20 discussions on the future of work. I look forward to taking this forward in my new capacity.”
