Delta and Texas Instruments have collaborated on EV power systems.

Joint Innovation laboratory to develop advanced Power System for Electric Vehicle

Taipei, Taiwan- Delta Electronics, Inc., an electronics manufacturing company, today announced the establishment of a joint innovation laboratory with Texas Instruments Inc., (TI), a semiconductor manufacturer in Dallas. The joint lab between TI and Delta aims to leverage TI's digital control and GaN expertise alongside Delta's high-efficiency power electronics. This collaboration will enhance Delta's EV power systems, boosting their performance and power density, thus strengthening Delta's competitiveness in the electric vehicle sector.

Mr. James Tang, Executive Vice President of Mobility at Delta and Head of its Electric Vehicle Solutions Business Group, said, "Delta has been developing high-efficiency automotive power products, systems and solutions since 2008 to help reduce transportation-related carbon emissions. Through the establishment of this joint innovation laboratory with TI, Delta intends to leverage TI’s abundant experience and advanced technology in digital control and GaN to enhance the power density and performance of our EV power systems. With more leading-edge product development and design capabilities, we aim to achieve closer technology exchange and collaboration to accelerate product development and improve product safety and quality. Delta has established joint labs with leading semiconductor firms, including TI, to advance automotive power electronics and digital control for software-defined vehicles (SDV). This collaboration aims to enhance power efficiency, safety, and product quality in next-generation EVs, supporting international car manufacturers in developing cutting-edge architectures and layouts.
