Hyundai is showcasing its hydrogen business and technology under the HTWO, emphasizing its unique capabilities and strong collaboration among affiliates
Date: September 26, 2024Seoul, South Korea- Hyundai Motor Group., unveiled its end-to-end hydrogen solutions and roadmap at H2 MEET 2024, Korea largest hydrogen industry exhibition event, running from September 25 to 27 at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) near Seoul.
The Hyundai Group, under the theme "Be a First Mover in Hydrogen," presented its hydrogen innovations and technology at H2 MEET 2024, with all affiliates Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Rotem, Hyundai Steel, Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai E&C, and Hyundai Glovis participating under the HTWO brand. The event showcased four key hydrogen business solutions:
Introducing W2H (Waste-to-Hydrogen) and P2H (Plastic-to-Hydrogen) technologies, which convert organic waste and non-recyclable plastic into hydrogen. The exhibition featured Korea’s first W2H facility in Chungju, which supplies hydrogen to nearby refueling stations, and highlighted Hyundai Motor’s PEM electrolysis technology, with Korea’s first PEM facility in Buan.
Demonstrating hydrogen solutions for industrial complexes, including ports and airports. Hyundai Motor showcased its Class 8 XCIENT Fuel Cell hydrogen trucks, used at the Port of Oakland, and its commitment to hydrogen infrastructure at Incheon Airport, with plans to use hydrogen trucks for logistics and expand refueling stations.
Focusing on eco-friendly logistics, Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Glovis launched HTWO Logistics, aiming to replace fossil fuel-based systems with hydrogen trucks. Starting at Hyundai Motor Group’s Metaplant in Georgia, U.S., this initiative will expand globally, including projects within the steel industry.
Offering a vision for a sustainable future powered by hydrogen technology, with applications in ships, trams, forklifts, and heavy equipment. Visitors experienced Hyundai Rotem’s Hydrogen Fuel Cell Tram through VR and viewed a diorama of the future hydrogen society.
Hyundai Group’s strategy aligns with its goal to achieve net zero by 2045, using renewable energy and expanding hydrogen technologies across industries and everyday life.
