With the market feedback, forage harvesters featuring innovations in V-Flex chopping, and CSPS analysis via CLAAS connect have been upgraded in Jaguar 900 series.
Date: October 21, 2024Italy - CLAAS Italy S.p.A. of Italy, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery has launched its newly upgraded V Flex Chopping cylinder, New Pick and CPCS analysis for JAGUAR 900 series. This is an optional feature JAGUAR 900/900 TERRA TRAC series, is now offered for CLAAS JAGUAR forage harvesters.
This cylinder has an optimized V-angle and V-FLEX knives, which produce higher throughputs, less noise, and greater crop flow. It also improves efficiency and reduces fuel consumption per tonne of throughput. The V-FLEX chopping cylinder comes in four versions with 20, 24, 28, and 36 knives, allowing for flexible configurations to extend the cut length. It offers a universal length-of-cut range from 3.5 to 53 mm and can be used with the MCC CLASSIC, MCC MAX, and MCC SHREADLAGE corn crackers for maize harvesting. The V-FLEX chopping cylinder features knives angled at 10°, with a 23mm anti-wear coating, ensuring precision, durability, extended service life, and optimized costs for farmers and contractors.
CLAAS now offers a CLAAS connect app that calculates the Corn Silage Processing Score (CSPS) in minutes during field harvesting. Collect a liter of chopped material, divide it into at least five samples on an A4 sized blue tray, photograph the samples with a smartphone, and transfer them to a server for analysis. Results are sent back in minutes, allowing realtime adjustments to the corn cracker, ensuring consistent processing quality.
The PICKUP 300's auger now has four offset paddles in the middle for better crop flow and throughput. The wear plates on the paddles are easily replaceable. It also features an extended dust screen covering the entire working width, reducing soiling and preventing harvest losses. The widemesh screen allows a clear view from the cab and can be easily opened for maintenance.
Mr. Stefan Look, Product Manager at CLAAS, explains that "Thanks to their unique features, the V-FLEX knives are currently the most durable on the market,". CLAAS has improved the knife sharpening operation to be more user-friendly. Operators can now select a convenient combination of knife sharpening and shear bar adjustment, which can be completed in just one minute for pre-determined cycles by the touch of CEBIS. The sensor-based shear bar adjustment has also been optimized. CEBIS now offers a status display for all sequences, allowing operators to estimate downtimes and optimize waiting times. The sharpening interval can be pre-programmed based on time or throughput based on QUANTIMETER throughput.
