Spelle, Germany - Bernard Krone Holding SE & Co. KG., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, introduces a bale clamp for VariPack round balers, designed to prevent bales from rolling away uncontrollably, especially on slopes. Available as an option for new machines, it can also be retrofitted to existing models.
Krone's VariPack balers are renowned for their outstanding baling density and high throughput, efficiently ejecting bales in under five seconds. However, on sloped terrain, there is a challenge as bales can sometimes roll away uncontrollably right after being released from the chamber. This potential issue underscores the need for added precautions when working on uneven ground.
To address this issue, Krone has developed a specialized bale clamp for its VariPack and VariPack Plus models. This hydraulic clamp securely holds the bale before the tailgate opens, preventing any unintended movement. Once the bale is ready for release, the clamp ensures a controlled and precise drop, allowing for safe placement even in challenging conditions such as sloped terrain. This innovation enhances both the safety and efficiency of baling operations.
Krone first introduced the bale clamp system at the previous Agritechnica tradeshow, featuring it on a VariPack baler. The system generated significant interest, especially from customers in the mountainous regions of southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France, where the risk of bales rolling away is more prominent. This innovative solution addresses the unique challenges faced by farmers in such terrains.
To meet growing demand, Krone now offers the bale clamp as an optional feature for all VariPack and VariPack Plus models. For added flexibility, existing machines can also be retrofitted with the clamp upon request. This innovative solution enhances safety and control during baling operations, particularly on sloped terrain, ensuring bales are securely placed and preventing uncontrolled movement.
