Werlte- Krone Trailers., unveiled the first Coil Liner, a trailer with a unique trough for the secure transportation of steel coils. In 1972, just two years after commercial vehicle production started at the Werlte facility. For freight forwarders at the time, moving the heavy steel coils for the car sector, which weigh several tons, presented a significant challenge because, once they started rolling, they could no longer be braked and constituted a significant risk. The IAA debut 50 years ago was a resounding success; forwarders and shippers responded favorably to Krone's innovation, and a large number of orders followed. The coil trough quickly evolved into a necessary piece of equipment for coil transportation.

The standard coil liner for up to 30 t payload, which is also available in a piggyback version for rail, the lightweight Coil Liner Ultra with cross beams, the even lighter, shorter Coil Liner Compact (under 5 t empty weight) for up to 30 t payload, and the Mega Liner Coil in cross beam design, are the four basic types of coil liners available today in Krone's range. The Coil Liner Compact's Vario Coil System guarantees constant, dependable load securing. With the help of a locking rail in the beams, it can be employed adaptably over the whole length of the coil body.
