Marquardt presents fuel cell components at Battery Show Europe

Rietheim-Weilheim, Germany– Marquardt Group., an automotive industry, they showcase their broad portfolio of components for fuel cells at the Battery Show Europe in Stuttgart. The electromobility supplier will demonstrate the components and their respective functions during the event.

Marquardt leverages its extensive experience in battery management systems, enabling several functions to transition to fuel cell systems. Similarities exist in the hardware, with nearly identical components utilized. Marquardt's developed system for monitoring batteries in electric cars can thus be repurposed for fuel cell monitoring. Moreover, the scalability of automotive fuel cell components allows for their application in stationary settings such as heating systems or energy storage systems.

Enhanced Stack lifespan through Cell Voltage Monitoring

The Cell Voltage Monitoring System (CVM) and Cell Voltage Pick-Up (CVP) directly record cell values. The continuous monitoring of individual cell voltages by the Cell Monitoring System offers real-time insights into cell performance and condition. This compact CVM enhances stack lifespan, boosts efficiency, and detects cell issues early, preventing costly repairs to the fuel cell stack. The Cell Voltage Pickup (CVP) ensures reliable bipolar plate connection and contact with the CVM.

Rapid and precise high-voltage sensor

Marquardt's high-voltage sensor, initially designed for HV battery systems, plays a critical role in ensuring safety for electric cars, fuel cell vehicles, and stationary battery systems. Offering rapid and precise measurements of current and voltage, it surpasses conventional sensors. With current measurement also vital for fuel cells, Marquardt provides an attractive and secure solution. Leveraging its scalable design and synergies with battery systems, the HV sensor can be seamlessly adapted for use in fuel cell systems at minimal expense.

H2 Leakage and Water Level Sensor

The new H2 leakage sensor accurately measures hydrogen levels in fuel cells, detecting concentrations from 0 to 4 percent of the volatile gas. Its reliability makes it crucial for ensuring safety in hydrogen system storage and operation, with applications spanning from heating system monitoring to electrolysis and propulsion systems. Additionally, Marquardt introduces a contactless water level sensor, enabling precise measurement of product water tank levels in internal fuel cell vehicles without direct contact with the medium, indicating when they require refilling.
