Date: November 23, 2023Södertälje, Sweden- Scania AB., has received a large new order for hybrid buses from Canary Islands-based public transportation company Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife S.A.U. (TITSA).
With over 60% of its 600-strong fleet sourced from Scania, TITSA, the sole public bus operator on the island of Tenerife, was already a significant Scania customer. However, this most recent agreement is for 231 new buses, including 173 hybrid models. As a result, the bus company will own 291 Scania combination combustion-electric vehicles, making it the largest fleet of hybrid vehicles among all public transportation providers in Spain and Portugal.

The vehicles will be delivered over the next two years 135 units in 2024 and the remaining 96 in 2025. Carrocera Castrosua, S.A will be responsible for the bodywork of all these chassis.
