      Siemens acquires Heliox | Enabling fast charging solutions

      Munich, Germany- Siemens AG., has inked an agreement to buy Heliox, a Dutch company that offers fleets of e-Bus and e-Trucks and passenger vehicles quick charging solutions. The acquisition will provide technologies and solutions for DC fastcharging targeted at eBus and eTruck fleets, enhancing Siemens' current eMobility charging offering. Additionally, Heliox's portfolio will boost Siemens' power electronics capabilities while expanding its market reach, notably in Europe and North America. The deal is yet to receive the usual regulatory approval.

      Matthias Rebellius, member of the managing board of Siemens AG and CEO of Smart Infrastructure said that the acquisition add another portfolio in their expansion in the eMobilisty charging business and also look into the digitization and software potential  in the energy and depot management systems.

      Siemens Smart Infrastructure includes Siemens eMobility which offers a variety of applications IoT-enabled hardware, software, and services for AC and DC charging ranging from 11 to 300 kW. Heliox, with its headquarters in the Netherlands, employs over 330 employees. Siemens buys the business from the private equity firm Waterland and a group of employees and private owners.
