Gothenburg, Sweden- Volvo Trucks.,  is continuing to enter new markets with its battery electric trucks. As of right now, the company has shipped its first batch of heavy-duty electric trucks to clients in Uruguay, Brazil, and Chile. By doing so, Volvo has supplied electric trucks to clients in 45 countries across six continents.

These orders show that transport businesses in these nations are increasingly interested in switching to more environmentally friendly heavy transport techniques. Brazil is a significant market for Volvo Trucks; in 2022, the company shipped 26,159 trucks to clients there.

Mr. Wilson Lirmann, President of Volvo Trucks Latin America, said that, Latin American carriers have high standards when it comes to truck transportation with zero emissions. Being selected to assist our customers as they begin their electrification journey makes us extremely pleased and happy. We think additional transportation firms will probably follow shortly.

One of the biggest logistics companies in Brazil, Reiter Log, plans to deploy five Volvo FM Electric cars on different routes. Volvo Financial Services is going to rent the trucks.  El Libertador and SQM have each started utilizing one Volvo FH Electric truck in Chile. Bitafal is going to use a Volvo FM Electric in Uruguay.

Volvo FM and FH electric variants have a combined operating weight limit of 44 tonnes. When fully charged, the trucks' range can reach up to 300 kilometers
