The company cites poor demand for the closure of the plant from August 25, 2023 to September 3, 2023

Timken India to shutdown its Jamshedpur plant

Bengaluru- Timken India Ltd., has announced shutdown of it’s Jamshedpur plant for a week, ie., from August 25, 2023 to September 3, 2023 citing to low demand and production. This comes in shortly after months of its Annual Financial Earning calls , where both Jamshedpur and Bharuch plants were operating at full capacity.

The company however is investing in its Bharuch plant. The investment is about 600 Cr inorder to expand its production capacity, and the new facility to manufacture SRB, CRB etc., from January 2025

Timken India, formerly known as Tata Timken, based from Bengaluru is primarily involved in the manufacturing and distribution of tapered roller bearings, components, and accessories for the automotive and railway industries. The company also offers maintenance contracts and refurbishment services.
