Daimler Truck Supervisory Board appoints a new CEO Mercedes-Benz Trucks

Mr. Achim Puchert will join Daimler Truck Holding AG’s Board of Management on December 1, 2024, overseeing Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Europe/Latin America.

Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany- The Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG., has appointed Mr. Achim Puchert as new member of the Board of Management until November 30, 2027. Achim Puchert (45), currently CEO and President Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Latin America, will take over from Ms. Karin Rådström as CEO Mercedes-Benz Trucks, responsible for the regions Europe and Latin America, starting on December 1, 2024.

Mr. Joe Kaeser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG, said, “With the appointment of Achim Puchert, the Supervisory Board promptly decides on the succession for the management of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Decisive criteria were team spirit, leadership strength and relevant experience in restructuring and profitable development of businesses. Achim Puchert brings together all these attributes in a convincing manner and has demonstrated this particularly in his current role as CEO of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. The Supervisory Board looks forward to working with him.”

Mr. Michael Brecht, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the General Works Council of Daimler Truck AG, said, “We from the General Works Council have known Achim Puchert for a long time through his various positions at the Wörth plant and in Brazil, among others. We consider him to be a very good choice and support his appointment. Given the challenges at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, we expect to be involved in the new direction early on and that the interests of employees, as well as shareholders are considered.”

He has impressively demonstrated his knowledge and skills in his current role as CEO of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. Achim Puchert began his career at Daimler in 2002, holding various roles in Key Account Management, Market Management, and Sales Controlling. He progressed to Executive Assistant to the Head of Sales, then led international operations for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, including joint ventures and CKD sites. In 2019, he became Senior VP of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service for Daimler Truck Asia, later adding oversight of Daimler Truck Overseas. Since 2022, he has been CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Latin America. He holds degrees in Economics, Business Administration, and International Management.
