KUHN Adds 5m BTFR 5010/5020 Foldable Seed Bars

KUHN unveils new 5m foldable seed bars: BTFR 5010 with Suffolk coulters and BTFR 5020 with single disc coulters.

Switzerland, Europe - KUHN SAS., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, expands foldable seeding bars with new 5m models, featuring Suffolk coulters (BTFR 5010) or single disc coulters (BTFR 5020).

The BTFR 5010 seeding bar features a 15 cm row spacing and low-maintenance Suffolk coulter units. Its adjustable coulter pressure of up to 25 kg ensures consistent seeding depth, even in heavy clay or sticky soils. The 3-row design, with 33 cm between rows, improves residue flow and performance in humid or stony conditions. With a 5 m working width, this new model complements the existing 6 m version.

The BTFR 5020 seeding bar offers row spacing options of 12.5 or 15 cm and features single disc coulter units with large 327 mm diameter discs for precise furrow opening. Its slight tilt reduces soil spray into the row, while a cast iron coulter share beside the disc firms the furrow and accurately places seeds. The units are arranged in two rows, 27 cm apart, allowing better passage in humid conditions or plant residue. Coulter pressure is adjustable up to 32 kg. This 5 m model complements the existing 4.5 and 6 m versions.

These versatile seeding bars adapt to tough conditions with hydraulic seeding depth and coulter pressure adjustments for user comfort. A lower stop ensures precise depth control, even on variable soils. Equipped with Vistaflow valves for 2×2 row tramlining, they also offer optional valves on all rows for enhanced monitoring and universal tramlining.

These seeding bars mount on the HR 5030 RCS power harrow, ensuring excellent ground following, reduced overhang, and optimal tractor balance. Paired with the TF 1512 ISOBUS front hopper (1,500 L or 2,000 L with extension), they enable seedbed preparation and sowing in one pass. Sowing is managed through a single ISOBUS terminal.

Kuhn’s folding pneumatic seed drill range now includes models with Suffolk coulters, single-disc coulters, and Seedflex 1000 units, offering working widths of 4 to 6 m. These versatile models meet the needs of contractors and cereal farms.
