Södertälje, Sweden- Scania CV AB., has launched its first-ever battery-electric CrewCab, developed specifically for fire, airport and civil rescue operations.

The new battery-electric Scania CP31L 4x2 CrewCab is designed to support demanding emergency services while enabling zero tailpipe emission transport operations. With 356 kWh of installed battery capacity and a 90 percent state-of-charge operating window, the vehicle combines electric performance with the capability required for mission-critical rescue work.

The CrewCab has been designed with free frame sides, giving bodybuilders greater flexibility to adapt the vehicle for a wide range of customer applications and operational requirements.

Mr. Louise Johansson, Solutions Manager at Scania Commercial responsible for the Fire & Rescue, Airport and Recovery segment, said the launch of the new Scania BEV CrewCab reflects the company’s commitment to supporting fleet electrification while combining sustainability, operational reliability and long-term profitability.

Developed to meet growing demand for low- and zero-emission rescue vehicles, the new CrewCab is built without compromising safety, uptime or crew comfort. Designed for challenging environments and critical emergency operations, it provides the space, accessibility and reliability that rescue teams require.
